An investigation is underway to discover the source of a leak of the new One Direction single – which could cost charity Comic Relief hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The song One Way Or Another – a cover of a Blondie track - is now freely available online more than a week before its release date of February 17.
Angry band member Louis Tomlinson, 21, said: “I hear the charity single has been leaked. Very sad to see. Don’t forget together we are trying to raise money for comic relief.
“Please get behind an incredible charity and make a real difference. You can pre order now from iTunes for the official track. Thank you.”
The band’s official twitter also today praised people who are buying the song legally, tweeting: “Thanks to everyone who’s pre-ordered 1D’s @rednoseday single already - keep supporting this amazing cause.”
