One Direction: 'Our mums went crazy about all the tattoos'

Pop idols One Direction have revealed their mothers have been getting the needle over their dedication to tattoos.

The group, who were brought together on the 2010 series of the X Factor, have dozens of tattoos between them with Harry Styles being the biggest fan of body art.
Liam Payne told ITV's Daybreak his mother "went crazy about the whole tattoo idea", but bandmate Zayn Malik laughed off stories that X Factor supremo Simon Cowell was upset about it.
He said: "Simon hasn't said anything but our mums have been like, 'maybe you're getting a bit too much'."
Styles said the group's recent visit to Ghana for Comic Relief had been "amazing".
He said: "We all kind of went out there not really knowing what to expect and then we all came back ... just kind of going, 'that was the best thing we've ever done'."
Malik, whose relationship with Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has seen him hit the headlines recently, said of the trip: "It kind of put things into perspective for me ... you go over there and you actually see people that are actually dealing with real problems and, you know, just having to carry on every day and keep going, so, yeah, just a general sense of putting things into perspective for me."

One Direction's Harry Styles 'Using DIY Tattoo Kits'

As mum Anne Cox is reportedly worried he's getting addicted to tatts...

One Direction star Harry Styles has allegedly been using DIY tattoo kits.
According to The Sun, Hazza is said to have let one of his friends use a home tattoo kit to create his latest design.
The newspaper claims that by using such kits, the Kiss You singer is at risk of hepatitis, TB and other infectious diseases - with his regular professional tattoo artist advising Styles to stop using the home methods.
34-year old Kevin Paul - who has also inked the likes of James Arthur and Ed Sheeran - claimed: "I tried to explain to him what the risks were but he doesn't seem to care."
Meanwhile, Harry's mum Anne Cox is also said to have aired her views on the 1D star's tattoo addiction, with The Daily Star reporting that she's urged him to not get another piece of body art while in Japan.
A source told the newspaper: "Harry’s mum is worried his tattoo collection is getting out of hand. She thinks he’s getting addicted to sitting in the artist’s chair.
“She’s concerned about the lasting effects of the scribbles all over his body and thinks he could live to regret some of them."
Boss Simon Cowell is also said to have advised Harry on the subject, with the insider explaining: "Simon gave him some gentle advice suggesting he gives it a break for a while and reassess.
“Harry has had over 30 tattoos in the last year. His mum is also concerned the ink could be the reason he gets such bad skin. She’s told him he’ll get even more spotty if he continues, not just on his face.”
The Daily Star adds that Anne is worried Harry may get a Kanji Japanese symbol during his trip to the Far East, with the mole adding: "Harry loves the Japanese symbols. He’s determined to have Japanese calligraphy on him.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if he gets it done sneakily.”
