One Direction Twitter spat with The Wanted after band member admits X Factor failure

Boy bands One Direction and The Wanted have reignited their rivalry in a Twitter spat.

Rival boy bands One Direction and The Wanted have been bickering on Twitter after a member of The Wanted admitted he failed to pass an X Factor audition in an interview.
Tom Parker, 24, one of The Wanted's five band members, told Metro he was "shattered" after being rejected at a first stage X Factor audition aged 16.
One Direction came in third place in The X Factor in 2010, and have since won two Brit Awards and became the first British band to go to the top of American music charts with their debut album last year.
Both bands have a strong social media presence: Tom Parker has nearly 1 million Twitter followers, although the One Direction members who were criticising him on the site, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, both have nearly 10 million each.
The spat started after Tomlinson retweeted a link to Parker's interview. Accusations followed of lying to Twitter followers, and using X Factor industry influence rather than talent to succeed. Tomlinson said Parker was the "biggest t--- on Twitter".
