Harry Styles allegedly wants to hire military security for One Direction's US leg of their Take Me Home world tour.

The 19-year old is said to have been "freaked out" after he was hit in the crotch with a shoe during their Glasgow gig last week, with The Daily Star reporting he also wants extra protection following his split from Taylor Swift.

A source told the tabloid: "Harry is not joking, he's taking the situation very seriously. He's mentioned high-security cars like the ones used by military top brass, plus a convoy.

"He also feels there are Taylor Swift followers out there who may hold a grudge against him following their break-up."

They added: "He may have looked casual and jokey lying on the floor but behind the scenes he was freaked out."

The news comes after Hazza's 1D bandmate Louis Tomlinson reportedly installed a panic room in his Hertfordshire home after girlfriend Eleanor Calder received death threats from jealous fans.

In other related news, the lads are also thought to have hired a luxury private jet, worth £3million, for their tour.

According to The Mirror, the aircraft has been branded Air Force One Direction, with The X Factor group using it for the first time for tonight's gig in Dublin (March 5).

However, their support act, 5 Seconds of Summer, were left to get the ferry over to Ireland, with the band tweeting yesterday: “Going to Ireland on a boat. We’re on the ferry to Dublin! PUMPED!
