In the most bizarre celebrity spat of recent weeks it's One Direction vs Culture Club.

There was always going to be a celebrity spat when you put hundreds of famous people at the same party on tables with unlimited bottles of booze.

But it’s fair to say nobody would have predicted a war of words between Boy George and Liam Payne.

The former Culture Club singer has been showing off his new slimline look after a dramatic weight loss where he shed a few stone so took the opportunity to diss the One Direction star.

At the BRIT Awards the eighties singer blasted Liam on Twitter after he apparently declined to pose for a photo with his 13-year-old niece Molly Fitzpatrick.

Skinny Boy tweeted: 'Top marks to Harry Styles for stopping for a picture with my niece and Bo**ox's to Liam and the disrespectful w**ker of a minder!'

And today, Liam hit back and ranted the 53-year-old shouldn’t 'tell porkies' and described the Karma Chameleon singer as 'weird'.

In a post on Twitter, Liam said: 'Now now boy lets not tell porkies firstly thanks for getting my name wrong three times secondly then asking me where is liam?...awkward.

‘Then when you finally got it right saying you wanted Niall instead. If you would have asked me for a picture I would have stopped bro I just did what you said and pointed niall out for you.

‘So u just keep wearing ur strange hats and enjoy yourself my little Georgie pie... It's still not cool you just look weird. [SIC]’

It’s worth noting that despite mocking his iconic look, Liam still called him ‘bro’. Which is sweet.

It wasn’t the only bit of 1D controversy from Boy George after he also claimed that Harry Styles would be the first member to leave the world famous boyband.
